This is my go-to Falafel recipe. I love how easy it is. Just throw everything into the food processor, blitz, shape and air fry. Nothing easier than that right? I love how I can make the mixture the day before and just pop them in the air fryer 10 minutes before serving dinner.
Preparation Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes (in the air fryer)
Yields 12-18 large falafel
Ingredients
2 cups chickpeas - freshly boiled
1/2 onion- chunks
4 cloves garlic
1/2 cup parsley
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 Tablespoon flour
2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Instructions
Combine all the ingredients in a food processor.
Pulse until the mixture comes together but isn't smooth. The mixture will be chunky. This makes that delicious texture.
Roll into tablespoon balls. Oil your hands slightly before rolling each one. Chill the mixture for 30 minutes before air frying.
Preheat the air fryer to 180c. Lightly brush the air fryer basket with oil.
Place the falafels onto the basket and brush the tops of the falafel with oil. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Turn them halfway through.
