So, in the last recipe I shared my husband’s love for Crispy Fried Chicken. It really is his favorite food. If you missed the recipe I have attached the link, do check it out.
But nothing tastes better with Crispy Fried Chicken than Coleslaw! And this one tastes just like the one they serve at KFC, which has been great for me, because this really satisfies the coleslaw cravings. Just so creamy and rich. Its so easy to make and only uses a few ingredients that everyone has at home all the time. It comes together in no time and is perfect for BBQs and parties. Make this a day before you need it so the coleslaw has had time to set and the flavors can develop overnight. I recommend making some extra to take to work, or eat for lunch the next day. I always look back and question why I didn’t make extra.
Here is the recipe! You will thank me later.
Preparation time 15 minutes
Yields 8 servings
Ingredients
½ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup milk
¼ cup buttermilk
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 ½ Tablespoon vinegar
½ a head of cabbage – shredded (usually around 3-4 cups of shredded cabbage)
1 carrot- grated
1 onion- chopped finely
Instructions
Combine the shredded cabbage, grated carrot and onion in a bowl.
In a clean bowl, combine the mayonnaise, milk, buttermilk, sugar, salt, black pepper and vinegar. Whisk well until combined
Pour over the prepared vegetables and mix well.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for a few hours until well chilled, between 4-8 hours. It tastes so much better the next day.
Stir once more before serving.
Let me know what you eat with coleslaw, I might be tempted to try a few ideas for dinner.
