Every day of Ramadan is important to us Muslims and when the kids are starting their fasting journey, I love making new and exciting snacks for when they break their fast. They love the idea of trying new things after a few hours on an empty stomach. In our home, we try to show the children the idea behind fasting, why we do it and how it benefits everyone. I will get them to hand out drinks, snacks and basics to those who need it. To those in shelters, give food at food banks, or even some who need it on the streets. There are so many people who are doing without the basic necessities and Ramadan is a great time to teach children about giving back.
