I wonder where my kids get the idea to ask for more and more exotic foods from different countries every day…. Hmm.. I wonder…. But this weekend the kids actually asked for chicken gyros. I have a huge list stuck to my fridge for recipes that I am actually tweaking and adjusting to get them ready to upload on the site. The kids circled Chicken Gyros- which they still pronounce as ‘guy-rows’. So off to the kitchen I went and whipped these delicious Chicken Gyros up in 20 minutes. I served the gyros with pita, salad, pickles, wedges, hummus, tzatziki and fried halloumi! SO DELICIOUS!

The best thing about the recipes I make is that I try making recipes as simple as possible so that I can get time for other things. This then makes it easy for others to follow the recipes too. I am attaching the recipes for the other items on the board here:
Preparation Time 10 minutes
Marination Time 4 hours
Cook Time 30 minutes
Serves 4
Ingredients
Chicken
500 grams chicken breasts- butterflied
3 tablespoons yogurt
2 teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoons oregano
1 tablespoon garlic paste- 4 cloves minced garlic
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon red chilli flakes
1 teaspoon cumin powder
2 teaspoons coriander powder
2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon back pepper
Serve with grilled halloumi, potato wedges, flatbread, tzatziki, pickles and salad
Instructions
Place the chicken in a bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Marinate the chicken for 4 hours
When ready to cook, heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large pan on medium heat. Cook the chicken on a medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through. Allow the chicken to rest for 2 minutes before slicing.
Serve with the potato wedges, bread, salad, tzatziki, halloumi and pickles.
